Mile Hi Diner: A Rockin' Good Way To Dine

July 17, 2010

After watching Streetdance at Eastwood, we were strolling and looking for somewhere to eat until we passed by Mile Hi Diner, a retro-inspired restaurant serving American food, but offers all day Filipino Breakfast.

The place is attractive, there were wall paintings of the good 'ol American days on the first floor. As we went upstairs, it is way different - more of a bar style,  different lights illuminating the bar area, with flat screen tv mounted on the side. There was even a small bell that you can ring but I don't know it's purpose (tee hee).

For the food I had Burger steak, originally the side dish should be mashed potato but as I got my food and saw rice, i asked why it wasn't mashed potato then they said that it's not available anymore, which I thought they should have told me before they made it. Mark down for this. My food was so-so.

Noah had Beef  Tapa, similar to that of Tapsilog =) I liked it better though.

Razon's of Guagua

After watching Eclipse at Eastwood, we were craving for halo-halo and so we went to Razon's of Guagua- our favorite halo-halo stop. Theirs is simple but sumptuous. Less ingredients but tasteful and oh so creamy!

mouth-watering halo halo!

My nephew Paul enjoying his halo-halo!

Noah enjoying too!

Zuni

Part 2 of Noah's birthday celebration.

After the relaxing massage at Island Spa. We headed at Zuni in Greenbelt 5 for dinner. There were few customers when we arrive since it was a weekday and almost 10pm already.

We were promptly assisted by their staff. We had a good impression on them. We also asked some details about the best wine for food pairing and the staff explained it very well. Two thumbs up!

We will definitely go back here!

Their complementary roll and butter

I had baked St. Peter's Fish Fillet Topped with Sauteed Prawns, Mushroom and Mozzarella.
In garlic -tomato ragout, served with fettuccine al borro and asparagus

Noah had Barbecued Baby Back Ribs.. (this is so perfect!)

Two Oceans Semillion Chardonnay

Grand Marnier Souffle for dessert!

Island Spa: An oasis in the midst of the city

First part of Noah's birthday celebration.

This was a surprise birthday gift.. few days before I have been looking for a good massage service for us since we've only tried some and want something new. And of course I want that something to be not so ordinary. Ive checked some blog sites and Island Spa was one of the top faves for it's good  service yet reasonable price =) and so I made reservation for June 30th, holiday and Noah's birthday =)

After my work he picked me up thinking that we'll just have dinner at Zuni, but I made an alibi that we drop by Jupiter first since my friends were there somewhere. As we reached Island Spa, at first he was clueless until he realized that were going to have a massage! And so he smiled.... excitedly =)

I would say their over all service would be 10 out of 10 from the receptionist to their masseuse. They were all friendly, polite and accommodating.

For the facilities, it  was clean and cozy, they have automated locker system, and I love the sauna, it was usual but I just had a good feeling afterwards =). One thing though which I noticed not suitable in the place were the flat screen tv's mounted on the wall of each rooms. It's not so relaxing to hear the tv programs from the other room while you're having that "moment".. The nature background sound alone would be a lot better.

Couple room =)
